Our aim is to train the community at the grassroots level to embrace and champion a culture that promotes environmental conservation and improvement. This will be achieved through an ecosystem that propagates sustainable micro-agribusinesses, providing a means to sustainably improve livelihoods.
Our Team
Francis Muendo
Francis Muendo is an insurance professional with eight years of experience in the insurance industry. He is the CEO of Greatscope Insurance Agency, an insurance consultancy and brokerage firm based in Nairobi. He also serves at the Council of Insurance Institute of Kenya as an Executive Council Member. Francis is a passionate environmentalist with great interest in farming in rural Makueni, where he runs Southern Sun Farm, a venture that specialises in livestock, fruit and vegetable farming.
Gloria Nzisa Kioko
Gloria Kioko embraces visionary and transformative leadership. She trained as a teacher at Kenyatta University and also has a Bachelor's in Leadership and Management from St. Paul's University.
She is the CEO of Penny Investment Ltd, a company that deals with fuel, transport, hotels and entertainment. She has over 10 years of experience in various successful business ventures.
She is a passionate environmental advocate and conservationist, evidenced by her active participation in greening activities across the country.
CPA. Alfred Mwau
Alfred Mwau is a seasoned finance professional with 15 years of experience across diverse sectors in Kenya and Tanzania. Combining his Bachelor of Commerce in Finance (BCOM-Finance) and ongoing pursuit of the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation, Alfred brings a comprehensive understanding of financial management and accounting principles. He is also committed to environmental and social responsibility, actively seeking opportunities to integrate sustainability practices into his work.
MCIPS. Caleb Mbithi
Caleb Mbithi, MCIPS, is a supply chain management expert with experience spanning over 8 years in the humanitarian sector, an entrepreneur, teacher, digital strategist, author, farmer, and passionate greener planet advocate. Caleb holds a bachelors degree in supply chain management from JKUAT, an MBA (operations management) from the University of Nairobi, and a CIPS Professional Diploma level 6 from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply in the UK, among many other professional certifications. He serves on several management and educational boards. He is a founder and the current organising secretary for Kaiti Greening Champions.
Mary Ngila
Mary Holds a BA in Environmental Studies and Geography from the University Nairobi.Currently serves as an Ecosystem research officer at Kenya Water Towers Agency in Nairobi, a state corporation under the ministry Ministry of Environment,Climate Change and Forestry. She has been active in the water tower conservation awareness campaign for more than half a decade.She advocates for a Greener planet and protected water towers for the survival of the human race.
Faith Mutavi
Faith is a socio-environmentalist and science communication expert with 14 years’ work experience in transdisciplinary backgrounds in ecology, environment, and communication science. Her interests are anchored in understanding socio-ecological processes and their link to humans, and how knowledge about these processes is shaped and shared within stakeholder networks to inform policy and practices. She is keen to link scientific evidence with practice to improve productivity, safety, and livelihood support while being deliberate to ensure environmental sustainability. She puts forth ardent efforts to improve livelihood resilience in drylands, focusing on crop and livestock production technologies and strategies in the face of climate change. She endeavours to mainstream gender in all spheres of work.
Morris Mulitu
Morris is a Computer Science Engineer with three years of industry experience, currently enhancing his expertise in data science at Explore AI. His passion for environmental sustainability drives his interest in climate adaptation and the use of data to address ecological issues. As a member of the Children and Youth Major Group to UNEP, he advocates for the application of technology in conservation efforts, aiming to leverage his skills for impactful change in environmental policies and practices.
Ruth Mboya
Ruth is an advocate of sustainable development goals focusing on climate action, quality education, and gender equality. Outside of her passion for advocacy work, she is a public relations and development communications expert with over 7 years’ experience in communications and marketing. She is also a trainer and a consultant in the field of communications.
Mbindyo Kisilu Muiwa
He is a founder member since 2016 and a committed environmentalist who has been instrumental in our greening agenda. He is very passionate about sensitising the community on greening the environment and environmental conservation.He has been involved in many tree planting initiatives within Kaiti and Makueni County as well as establishing linkages with partners in the greening space. He is an established consultant in real estate and property management currently working with Tysons Limited based in Nairobi.
Elizabeth Mutavi
Elizabeth Mutavi is a graduate of the University of Nairobi with Bachelor of Arts in social work and Advanced Diploma in Technical Teaching. She has over 8 years’ experience in community and social work focusing on environmental advocacy and community empowerment. She has passion for sustainability and commits to protecting the Environment
Dr. Stephen Ndolo Kiio
Stephen Ndolo Kiio is a consultant physician having a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery (M.B.Ch.B) and a Masters Degree in Internal Medicine. He has worked for seven years as a doctor in the technical areas while in the last ten years he has been working in the management of county health services. He is currently a County Chief Officer in the Department of Health Services, Makueni County. Stephen has been an active participant in greening and climate change activities. He is a champion in promotion of green energy. He has extensive networks that are key in resource mobilization and support to activities of Kaiti Greening Champions.
Mulwa Mawioo
Mulwa Mawioo, a public health graduate from JKUAT with additional qualifications in pharmacy and global health, is an environmental advocate dedicated to conservation efforts in Kenya. Leveraging his diverse educational background, Mulwa actively engages in community-driven initiatives to promote sustainable practices, aiming to create a lasting positive impact on the planet’s health and well-being.
Prof. Emmanuel Mutisya
Prof. Mutisya is a long-term consultant and programme coordinator in the education and skills development sector at the African Development Bank. His expertise spans international development policy, project management, the design of skills development programmes, policy strategic planning, youth entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, higher education and research, and sustainability science. Prof. Mutisya has a track record of designing, formulating, implementing, and monitoring portfolios at the country, regional, and global levels. Currently, he serves as University Council Chairman, Kenya-AIST, Education Advisor to the President, and Chairman of GESCI.
